Clinic Improvements
Through your support, we helped strengthen the government-run Siala Medical Clinic in Kenya by providing a nurse, electricity, running water, medications, and essential medical supplies for a year and a half. These resources increased patient utilization and encouraged the government to step in and make improvements to the clinic, expanding access to vital healthcare for the surrounding community.

Impact Stories
Rayan
Meet Alice, Stephen, and their son Rayan, a family from Siala, Kenya. After Stephen’s first wife passed away from meningitis, he was left to care for their three young children. Alice later embraced Stephen and his children as her own, and together, they built a family and welcomed two more children, including their youngest, Rayan.

Rayan was born with an umbilical hernia, a condition that required surgery the family could not afford. In early 2024, when Rayan began experiencing abdominal pain, his family faced the urgent need to find him medical care. Without the resources to cover the cost of treatment and transportation, getting him to a hospital seemed out of reach.

Through the support of On A Mission, Rayan was transported to the nearest city, where he received life-changing surgery. What once felt like an impossible challenge became an opportunity for healing, bringing relief to Rayan and renewed hope to his family. This story is a reminder of how your support helps provide vital medical care and bring hope to families in need.

Maxwell
Maxwell lives in the desert of West Pokot, Kenya, hours away from the nearest dentist. Without a vehicle, accessing dental care was extremely difficult for his family.

Through your support, we were able to provide transportation to a dentist, where Maxwell had teeth removed to allow his permanent adult teeth to come in properly. This simple act of care helped provide him with a healthier smile and a brighter future.

Helen & Salome
In 2018, the On A Mission team met Helen and her daughter, Salome, in Kaaron Village, West Pokot, Kenya. Salome was born with a cleft lip and palate. While her lip was repaired in infancy, her palate remained untreated. In 2019, the team helped arrange transportation for Salome to receive the palate repair surgery she needed.

When the team arrived, they discovered Helen was suffering from a severe foot infection caused in part by a lack of proper footwear. Thankfully, she received successful, foot-saving surgery at the same time as her daughter.
Deborah
One-year-old Deborah from West Pokot, Kenya, cannot use her legs and has never received answers due to limited medical access. Her widowed mother works in a mine while village children help care for her. On A Mission provided transportation for Deborah to receive medical testing, bringing hope for answers and healing.
Layla
Meet Layla, a sweet 6-year-old girl from Kenya who has faced challenges with mobility and has often needed to be carried because she cannot walk without assistance. Through the support of On A Mission, Layla was provided with pediatric crutches that have helped her walk more independently, bringing new opportunities for mobility, confidence, and freedom.

Pokot Women's Health Coference
In August 2026, Karen traveled to Kenya for a Pokot Women’s Health Conference and helped run a medical camp in Ikutha, Kitui, serving women and families in need.
Impact of the Pokot Women's Conference
Maurine Auma, 32, has endured poverty, loss, abuse, and unimaginable hardship. After losing her father at age nine, she helped care for her sick mother and younger sisters. As she grew older, Maurine faced difficult relationships, became a young mother, and struggled to provide for her children while carrying the weight of years of trauma.

Eventually, a neighbor invited her to church, where Maurine found a community of faith. When she attended the Pokot Women’s Conference, she was challenged to reflect on how she treated her children and the importance of protecting and caring for them. During the conference, Pastor Njenga and his wife, Eunice, shared the love of Christ with her, and Maurine gave her life to Jesus.

That experience became a turning point. Through her growing relationship with Christ and the continued support of Pastor Njenga and Eunice, Maurine’s heart began to change. She found renewed hope, learned to love and protect her children, and discovered that God could bring transformation even in the midst of her deepest struggles.

Maurine continues to face challenges, but her testimony is one of God’s faithfulness and protection. Her story reminds us that God can bring hope, healing, and transformation, no matter how difficult life may become.
